Hexeosis:  Trippy Pattern Movement

At one time the very popular gif artist who is know as Hexeosis was a Creative Director for a respected Motion Graphics firm making TV Commercials for a living. After seeing the creative gif work coming out of the Tumblr community in 2012  Hexeosis was inspired and started making gifs, and got so good at and it and so popular that he decided to strike out on his own and make commissions for a living.  The result is a library of fantastically color saturated loops that would serve as a great description for the word ‘trippy’ in the dictionary.  For those who follow gif artists closely, please know that he creates these gifs NOT with code but with Cinema4D and After Effects, the traditional tool set of motion graphics designers.

Keep up with all your favorite artists on our Facebook page.

Igbo mythology | Chukwu
Chukwu is the supreme being of the Igbo religion. In the Igbo pantheon, Chukwu is the source of all other Igbo deities, and is responsible for assigning them their different tasks. The Igbo people believe that all things come from Chukwu, who brings the rains necessary for plants to grow and controls everything on Earth and the spiritual world. They believe Chukwu to be an undefinable omnipotent and omnipresent supreme deity that encompasses everything in space and space itself.

Washington Black (2019)

George Washington Black, or “Wash,” an eleven-year-old field slave on a Barbados sugar plantation, is terrified to be chosen by his master’s brother as his manservant. To his surprise, the eccentric Christopher Wilde turns out to be a naturalist, explorer, inventor, and abolitionist. Soon Wash is initiated into a world where a flying machine can carry a man across the sky, where even a boy born in chains may embrace a life of dignity and meaning–and where two people, separated by an impossible divide, can begin to see each other as human. But when a man is killed and a bounty is placed on Wash’s head, Christopher and Wash must abandon everything. What follows is their flight along the eastern coast of America, and, finally, to a remote outpost in the Arctic. What brings Christopher and Wash together will tear them apart, propelling Wash even further across the globe in search of his true self. From the blistering cane fields of the Caribbean to the frozen Far North, from the earliest aquariums of London to the eerie deserts of Morocco, Washington Black tells a story of self-invention and betrayal, of love and redemption, of a world destroyed and made whole again, and asks the question, What is true freedom?

omgniatheapricot:

| Khonsu, The Wanderer | Khonsu was a god of the moon and time. His cult center was at Thebes where he was part of a triad with Amun and Mut. He was one of the companions of Thoth. It was thought that he could influence the fertility of both the people and their livestock and one myth gives him a prominent role in the creation of the universe. He was also revered as a god of healing, as is recorded in the story of the “Princess of Bekheten”. It was said that he personally healed the pharaoh Ptolemy IV (who took the epithet “beloved of Khonsu who protects the king and drives away evil spirits” in thanks for the gods help) and he was also thought to extend his protection to the common people. As a result, many Egyptians were named after him.
